Crios Torrontes reminds us to break the rules – that tinkering with assumptions can lead to rewards like seeing a common blending grape become Argentina’s star white wine. Crisp, refreshing and aromatic, with a bouquet of citrus fruits, passion fruit, lychee and white flowers. Lively acidity, a hint of creaminess and a long, mineral finish add depth and balance to the palate. Aged for 3 months in stainless steel tanks of the lees to add structure. Pair with smoked meats, medium cheeses, fish, crab, sushi.
Typical torrontes aromas of white blossoms, lychees and lemongrass. It turns slightly more minerally on the palate, with crisp white fruit and a dry and floral medium-length finish. Simple and well made.

The 2023 Torrontes Crios is a 50-50 blend of grapes from Cafayate and the Uco Valley. Yellow in hue, it entices with jasmine, lychee and tropical notes, complemented by hints of grass and citrus. It is broad and moderately fresh on the palate, offering intense flowered flavors. This is a joyful sip from Argentina.

Crios is a family-owned brand by Susana Balbo, Argentina’s leading and most innovative winemaker. Crios in Spanish means “offspring” and was created by Susana as a tribute to her son, Jose´, and daughter, Ana. Nowadays, Susana’s children have joined the family business and add their young-adult point of view to the wines that are dedicated to their family bond.
Crios wines are harvested from specific areas in Mendoza and Salta in Argentina, where grapes are optimal for the fruit-forward style of Crios.
