Château Montaud is the historic home of Vignobles François Ravel, a family-owned Provence wine producer established in 1964. Located within the Côtes de Provence appellation near the Massif des Maures, the estate has developed into one of the region’s substantial family vineyard holdings while preserving a distinctly Provençal approach to winegrowing.
The vineyards are rooted in naturally poor Permian soils that compel the vines to reach deeply into the earth for water and nutrients. This struggle limits excessive vigor and helps produce grapes with concentration, freshness, and a recognizable mineral character. Provence’s abundant sunshine is moderated by Mediterranean and mountain influences, allowing the fruit to ripen fully while retaining the acidity essential to fine rosé.
