A stellar value that punches far above its weight class, the 2024 Bodegas El Angosto “La Tribuna” is a masterclass in affordable Mediterranean winemaking. Crafted by the Cambra family in the Ontinyent sub-zone of Valencia, this field blend of Bobal, Garnacha, and Syrah leaps from the glass with an explosive, perfumed bouquet of wild blueberries, black raspberries, lavender, and crushed stones.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, remarkably pure, and seamless. The inherent rustic structure of Bobal is perfectly tamed by the plush, juicy fruit of Garnacha and the savory spine of Syrah. Driven by a vibrant vein of acidity and framed by fine, chalky tannins, it reveals layers of licorice, dark chocolate-orange, and Mediterranean scrub (garrigue) on the finish. Aged for four months in French oak before transferring to large 7,000-liter vats, it maintains a beautiful balance between raw fruit energy and sophisticated structure. Drink this vibrant, forward, and intensely satisfying red over the next 3–4 years. It is an absolute steal.
