Covenant’s sister label is showing a highly vivacious character with ripe, round, cherry, berry and spice flavors couched in firm acidity and soft, supple tannins. The layered flavors and textures are showing beautifully in the glass, and the finish is long, lush and fresh on the palate. While the press wine from Covenant Cabernet continues to be a part of the blend, we source the lion’s share of the wine from Sonoma and Dry Creek Valley – both in Sonoma County.
Also included in the blend are Syrah, Malbec, Merlot and just a touch of Grenache. Like all Covenant wines, RED C® RED is fermented with native yeast. It is also bottled unfined and unfiltered.

In 2003, Covenant founders Jeff Morgan and Leslie Rudd were inspired to bring a new California perspective to a 3500-year-old winemaking tradition. What started as a 500-case Napa Cabernet Sauvignon project has now grown more than ten-fold. Today, Covenant’s 9,000-square-foot urban Northern California winery is situated in Berkeley, California.
By 2014, Jeff and his wife, Jodie, decided it was time to leave Napa Valley, where they had raised their two daughters, to build a new urban winery in Berkeley, California—about an hour’s drive from many of their vineyard sources. Today, Covenant Winery is a large, refurbished industrial warehouse and former garage. Dare we call Covenant “garagiste?”
